A RESOLUTIC~ OF THE CITY ~ OF THE CITY OF RAN(~O
~, CALIFORNIA, MAKING APPLICATION TO THE
~ STATE LIBRARY FOR CALIF~m~U_A LIMRARY
A. Recitals.
WHEREAS, the City of ~ (~ currently has one 10,800 square
foot l~}~,v=ary facility; and
WHEREAS. the growth in population of the City since its incorporation
b~ increased demands f~r library services, such that the current facility is
unable to meet the current nor urojected ncc~s of the residents of the
oa.,.~mity; and
WHEREAS, the State of California did enact Proposition 85 in
November, 1988, the California ~ary Oonstruction and Renovation Bond Act,
providing ~tely $75,000,000.00 in funding for library construction;
WHEREAS, the city of Rancho Cucamonga desires to make application to
the California State Lil~=ary for funding of a portion of the construction of
its Central Park T.~hrary (the "Library").
B. Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby find, determine and resolve as follows:
1. This City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the
Recitals, Part A, of this Resolution are true and correct.
2. This City (kxmcil hereby certifies that the project budget as
identified in the "T.{~,-~-ary Project Budget", pages 39 throt~3h 40, inclusive, in
the Application for California T.~,~-~ry Construction and Renovation Bond Act
Funds (the "Application"), atta _c~d~__ hereto as Exhibit "A", and incorporated
herein by this referenoe, is true and correct, and represents its best
estimate of construction costs. Furthermore, suc~ amounts are sunmmrized as
follows:
Eligible Project Costs $20,086,076.00
Ineliqible Project Costs $12,999,372.00
Total Project Cost $33,085,448.00
Local Ma~Funds $ 7,030,127.00
State Matc;hingFunds $13,055,949.00
Supplemental Local Fur~m $12,999,372.00
Total Project Income $33,085,448.00

3. This City Council hereby certifies that the amount of local
matc~ funds identified in the "T.{?,-,-~ Project Budget", Page 40 in the
Application, in the total amount of $7,030,127.00, is c~tt~ to this
T.~hrary and is now available.
4. This City Council hereby finds and certifies as follows:
a. All information contaLned in the Application is true and
b. ~he City of Rar~ Cucam~ is able to finanoe the
supplemental funds, in the total amount of $12,999,372.00, ne~ to
complete the project in a timely manner.
c. The local and mat~ funds requ{red f~r the construction
of the Lib~=ary will be available when needed to meet the cash flow
requirements of the project.
d. Tne operation of the c~leted facility and provision of
of the San Ber~ County Li~-ary.
5. ~ City Council b~_by approves the Application and directs the
Mayor to execute the Application on behalf of the City of Rancho CUcamo~.
6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
