HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-335 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 89-335 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, SETTING MAXIMUM RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIALREFUSE COLLECTING WITHIN THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga recognizes that effective July 1, 1989 the County of San Bernardino substantially increased the tonnage fees for refuse deposited at the Milliken Landfill site by 75%; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga recognizes that since August 1, 1988, the last adjustment in rates for residential refuse collection, there have been substantial increases in general operating expenses and employee wages by the permit refuse haulers within the City of Rancho Cucamonga; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga has determined that it is necessary for the efficient operation and management of the residential and commercial/industrial refuse collection service within Rancho Cucamonga that the maximum rates be adjusted. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby resolve that the rates listed below become effective July 1, 1989: SECTION 1: Charges for Service - Residential. A. Basic Individual Residential Unit rate utilizing curb service and individual payment. 1. Maximum monthly rate $11.40 per service. 2. Maximum monthly rate differential for service north of Banyan Street ~0.70 per service. 3. Maximum monthly rate for senior citizen $6.90. a. Senior citizen shall be anyone sixty-two (62) years old, head of household, and have a request with permittee. B. Multiple Residential Unit rate utilizing curb service and group payment. 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be $11.40 for the first uhft and $10.10 for each unit thereafter. 2. Maximum monthly rate differential for service north of Banyan $0.70 per unit. C. Multiple Residential Unit rate utilizing three (3) cubic yard refuse containers. Resolution No. 89-335 Page 2 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. a. One service weekly $ 67.50 b. Two services weekly $104.25 c. Three services weekly $141.00 d. Four services weekly $177.75 e. Five services weekly $214.50 f. Six services weekly $251.00 D. Temporary service (less than thirty (30) days). 1. Three (3) cubic yard,containers. a. Maximum rate of $54.75 for seven (7) days at a location. b. Maximum rate of $33.50 for each additional service (dump). 2. Roll off container up to maximum forth (40) cubic yards. a. Maximum rate of $233.00 per service (dump), however, container shall be serviced (dumped) at least once every seven (7) days. SECTION 2: Charges for Service - Commercial/Industrial. A. Commercial and Industrial rate utilizing one and one half (1- 1/2) cubic yard refuse containers: 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. Un-compacted Compacted a. One service weekly $ 56.00 $ 83.75 b. Two services weekly $ 81.75 $122.25 c. Three services weekly $107.50 $161.00 Monthly rates in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rate. B. Commercial and Industrial rate utilizing two (2) cubic yard refuse containers: 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. Resolution No. 89-335 Page 3 Un-compacted Compacted a. One service weekly $ 62.50 $ 93.75 b. Two services weekly $ 94.50 $142.25 c. Three services weekly $126.75 $191.00 Monthly rates in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum service. C. Commercial and Industrial rate utilizing three (3) cubic yard refuse containers: 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. Un-compacted Compacted a. One service weekly $ 74.75 $112.00 b. Two services weekly $115.00 $172.50 c. Three services weekly $155.25 $269.00 d. Four services weekly $195.50 $329.75 e. Five services weekly $235.75 $390.25 f. Six services weekly $276.00 $450.75 Monthly rates in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rate. D. Commercial and Industrial rate utilizing four (4) cubic yard refuse containers: 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. Un-compacted Compacted a. One service weekly $ 87.50 $131.50 b. Two services weekly $137.75 $206.75 c. Three services weekly $188.00 $282.00 d. Four services weekly $238.25 $357.50 e. Five services weekly $288.50 $432.75 f. Six services weekly $338.75 $508.00 Monthly rates in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rate. E. Commercial and Industrial rate utilizing six (6) cubic yard refuse containers: 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. Resolution No. 89-335 Page 4 Un-compacted Compacted a. One service weekly $103.75 $156.00 b. Two services weekly $174.00 $261.00 c. Three services weekly $244.00 $365.75 d. Four services weekly $314.25 $470.75 e. Five services weekly $384.50 $575.75 f. Six services weekly $454.50 $680.75 Monthly rates in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rate. F. Food handling and food processing as defined by Chapter 8.18 (counter-balanced lid), utilizing three (3) cubic yard containers: 1. Maximum monthly rate shall be as follows in respect to frequency of service. Un-compacted Compacted a. Two services weekly $131.50 $172.50 b. Three services weekly $171.50 $233.00 c. Four services weekly $211.25 $293.50 d. Five services weekly $251.00 $354.25 e. Six services weekly $291.00 $414.75 Monthly rates in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rate. G. Roll off container up to maximum forth (40) cubic yards. Un-compacted Compacted a. Per service (dump) $251.00 $376.00 Container shall be serviced (dumped) at least four (4) times per month. Rate in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rates. H. Temporary service (less than thirty (30) days). 1. Three (3) cubic yard containers. a. Maximum rate of $54.75 for seven (7) days at location. b. Maximum rate of $33.50 for each additional service (dump). Maximum rate of $251.00 per service (dump), however, container shall be serviced (dumped) at least once every seven (7) days. Rate in respect to frequency shall not be less than 85% of the stated maximum rates. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 19th day of July, 1989.
