A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
ENFORCEMENT OF THE CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE IN THE
RANCHO PARK GATED COMMUNITY (GENERALLY LOCATED
SOUTH OF 6T" STREET, WEST OF ARCHIBALD AVENUE, AND
EAST OF HELLMAN AVENUE)AS AUTHORIZED BY CALIFORNIA
VEHICLE CODE SECION 21107.7
WHEREAS,California Vehicle Code Section 21107.7 allows the City to authorize that
provisions of the California Vehicle Code be enforced on privately owned and maintained roads near
to or connected to public highways; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition from the Board of Directors of
the Rancho Park Venture Homeowners Association requesting that the provisions of California
Vehicle Code 21107.7 be applied to the roads in their community; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter has been conducted and notice of such
hearing was sent to all of the owners in the Rancho Park in conformance with California Vehicle
Code Section 2107.7.
NOW,THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. That the conditions of California Vehicle Code Section 21107.7 have been met.
2. That public safety would be served by making the roads in the Rancho Park
Gated Community subject to the California Vehicle Code.
3. That prior to the start of enforcement of the California Vehicle Code,the Rancho
Park Venture Homeowners Association will post a sign or signs at the entrances
to the property of the size, shape, and color as to be readily legible during
daylight hours from a distance of 100 feet, to the effect that the roads within the
park are subject to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code.
4. That prior to the start of enforcement of the California Vehicle Code,the Rancho
Park Venture Homeowners Association will file with the City Traffic Engineer a
plan showing that the location and type of traffic signs, markings or devices are
in conformance with the uniform standards of the City of Rancho Cucamonga
and the Department of Transportation.
