CALL TO ORDER An adjourned meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, Redevelopment Agency and Fire Protection District was held on Thursday, June 18, 1998, in the Tri Communities Room of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order by Mayor, William J. Alexander. Present were Councilmembers: Paul Biane, James Curatalo, Diane Williams, and Mayor William J. Alexander. Also present were: Jack Lain, City Manager; Jerry iB. Fulwood, Deputy City Manager; Linda D. Daniels, Redevelopment Agency Director; Mitch Stagerman, Sr. RDA gmalyst; Larry Temple, Administrative Services Director; Tamara Layne, Finance Officer; Rose Colum, Budget Analyst; Alex Ahumada, Admin Services OfficeffFire; Stacey Robinson, Accountant; Ingrid Blair, GIS/Special Districts Supervisor; Deborah Clark, Librmy Director; Paula Pachon, Management Analyst II; Rick Gomez, Community Development Director; Brad Bullet, City Planner; Bill Makshanoff, Building Official;Joe O'Neil, City Engineer; Shintu Bose, Deputy City Engineer; Dave Moore, Recreation Superintendent; Chief Dennis Michael, Fire Protection District; Captain Rod }loops, Police Department; l)uane Baker, Assistant to the City manager; iDiane O'Neal, Assistant to the City Manager; Jenny }Iaruyama, Management Analyst I; and Debra J. Adams, City Clerk. B. ITEM OF DISCUSSION B 1. DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED BUDGETS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998/99 Jack Lam, City Manager, presented the proposed budgets for fiscal year 1998/99. He stated there were a couple of items for the City Council to discuss t¥om comments at the last meeting. Joe O'Neil, City Engineer, stated they have distributed to the Council maps outlining the capital projects. He continued to explain each projeck City Council/Redevelopment Agency/Fire iProtection District Minutes June 18, 1998 Page 2 Councilmember Biane inquired i.f the beautification project Mr. O'Neil talked about at the last meeting was still on line. Joe O'Neil, City Engineer, stated yes they would be done next fiscal year. Councilmember Curatalo asked if there was something that could be done to the median on Haven Avenue between 19th and Highland Mayor Alexander explained that this area will be affected by the Route 30 freeway and that it might not be prudent to spend money for nothing. Joe O'Neil, City Engineer, stated he would look at that and see what can be done. Jack Lam, City Manager, stated because of 'the construction schedule it should be taken care of within a year. Mr. Lam also :noted fi~at the budget: does have $500,000 for redoing the General Plan. He added Rick Gomez, Commmfity Development Director, and Brad Buller, City Planner, will present information on how this process will be done. Rick Gomez, Community Development Directo:r, referred to the memorandum that the Council had received explaining this process. Jack Lain, City Manager, stated this can be left: in the budget and not spent until the Council was ready to do this. He also mentioned the vehicle license fee issue and explained the status of that. Mayor Alexander stated he is happy how the League has handled some of these issues this year. C. COMMUNICATION FROM THE PUBLIC No communication was made from the ptlblic, City Council/Redevelopment Agency/Fire Protection District Minutes June 18, 1998 Page 3 D. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Moved by Williams, seconded by Curatalo to adjourn to June 25, 1998, 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 10500 Civic: Center, Rancho Cucamonga, to adopt the City, Redevelopment Agency and Fire Protect:ion District budgets..
