PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES
SPECIAL JOINT MEETING
A. CALL TO ORDER
A special joint meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council/Redevelopment Agency and Park and
Recreation Commission was held on Monday, November 26, 2007, in the Tapia Room at the Civic Center
located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Mayor Pro TemNice Chairman Diane
Williams called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Present were Councilmembers/Agencymembers: Rex Gutierrez; L. Dennis Michael, Sam Spagnolo, and
Mayor Pro Tem/Vice Chairman Diane Williams.
Present were Commissioners: Martin Dickey, Francisco Oaxaca and Vice Chairman Antonio Karraa
Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager/Executive Director; Kevin McArdle, Community Services Director;
Dave Moore, Recreation Superintendent; Francie Palmer, Marketing Manager; Karen McGuire-Emery, Sr.
Park Planner; JoAnn Gwynn, Recreation Supervisor; Michelle Dazalla, Recreation Coordinator; Trang Huynh,
Building and Safety Official; Ty Quaintance, Facilities Superintendent; and Neil Plummer, Facilities
Coordinator.
Absent were: Mayor/Chairman Donald J. Kurth, M.D., Chairman Patricia Carlson and Commissioner Punter
B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
No communication was made from the public.
C. ITEM(S) OF BUSINESS
C1. Bus Tour visiting various aquatics centers including:
A. Begin at Rancho Cucamonga City Hall, 10500 Civic Center Drive
B. Aquatics Center -City of La Mirada, 13700 La Mirada Boulevard
C. Aquatics Center -City of Santa Clarita, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway
D. Aquatics Center -City of Palmdale, 3850 East Avenue S
E. End ai Rancho Cucamonga City Hall, 10500 Civic Center Drive
The City Council/Redevelopment Agency, Park and Recreation Commission and staff toured the sites as
described above.
A recess for lunch was taken at 12:30 p.m. with the tour resuming at 1:15 p.m.

D. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting and tour adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
