Lorimer, Sr. Administrative Assistant SUBJECT: FOUNDATION MISSION STATEMENT AND GOALS AND OBJECTIVES As part of the upcoming point City Cou~il/Community Foundation meet{ng on September 16, this memo provides additional information regarding the Mission Statement and Goals and Objectives established by the Foundation. The entire Board of Oi rectors has met on numerous occasions to discuss the role the Foundation should play within the community in raising needed revenue for cultural arts, recreation and leisure activities, and Human services, The Foundation also expects to be a front runner within the conmunity in promoting and encouraging uciier iw.ol orya„;ca t', oc. :::"_ agencies to contribute to and promote these activities, the attached Mission Statement, Long-range Goals, Intermediate Ob,jec Lives and the Tweive-month Plan have been approved by the Board of Directors and are being presented to the City Council for your concurrence. The members of the Board wish to have the Lity Council understand that they believe the role of the Foundation to support, encourage and promote the cultural arts, educational and leisure, and human service, needs and programs for the community. The Board of Directors has completed its mission statement and goals and objectives for the next twelve months and finds that an essential need fora part-time Administrative Intern in order to achieve the established goals and objectives. A copy of the mission statement and twelve month plan are attached within this agenda packet. The Intern is justified due to the need for extensive donation and cultivation records to he maintained. In addition, the Intern would provide support in the areas of public contact, cooresoondence preparatior„ and Special events planning and coordination. without the Intern, Tt is anticipated that current staff could not maintain such important donatf on and cultivation records and 1f,LL~y> ue~eaam•y rur the rounaan on to ratse funds. In addition, special staffing is required to address the Lime consuming tasks of preparing for fund raising activities such as Foundation mixers, the Mayor's Ball, and other Foundation events. The Board of Directors respectfully requests the City Council's approval of this part-time position (allocated from the City's General Fund) and the con tf nued support necessary for the Foundation to achieve its tremendous goals. Prepare cporespondence relating to Foundation business. 2. Prepare and update comprehensive cultivation listings for business, corporate and individual gift campaigns. 3. Prepare and maintain prospect and cul tf va Lion records. 4. Plan and coordinate special events and fundraising ac tivitf es. 5. Coordinate the Rancho Cucamonga Community Calendar, a joint project between the City and Foundation. 6. Maintain gift records and process gift acknowledgements. 7.
