Summary of significant accounting policies Donations are zecozded when received and expenses aze recorded when the liability is incurred. Contributions by the Foundation aze rewzded when approved by the Board of Directors. 3. Deferred donations -restricted An individual contributed E8, 000 to the Foundation to be used exclusively for the preservation of local folklore. As of June 30, 1988, m fords have • been expended for this purpose. 4. Mayor's Charity Ball As a result of the Foundation's sponsorship of the 1988 Mayor's Charity Ball, proceeds of E48,278 benefiting the Foundation were realized while E21,791 of expanses cuere incurred.
