COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC This is the time and place for the general public to address the Community and Library Foundations. State law prohibits the Foundations from addressing any issue not previously included on the Agenda. The Foundations may receive testimony and set the matter for a subsequent meeting. R A N C H O C U C A M O N G A COMMUNITY SERVICEF Staff Report DATE: June 10, 2003 TO: Rancho Cucamonga Community Foundation Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation FROM: Kevin McArdle, Community Services Director Deborah Clark, Library Director BY: Paula Pachon, Management Analyst III SUBJECT: UPDATE AND DISCUSSION REGARDING THE CULTURAL CENTER PROJECT'S PAL CAMPAIGN (PROMOTING ARTS AND LITERACY) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Community and Library Foundations review and approve the enclosed working documents relating to the Cultural Center Project's PAL Campaign. BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: Staff has prepared two working documents that provide clarification on items relating to the Cultural Center Project's PAL Campaign. The first of these documents is a timeline that outlines the major PAL Campaign events, the two major phases of the Campaign and the 9 major fundraising programs. The second document provides the Foundations information on the PAL Campaign donation levels and Gala perks, Gala programs and the PAL Campaign donation levels and Telethon perks. It is staffs hope that these documents will assist the Foundation Boardmembers during their fundraising endeavors by providing a clear timeline for major emphases of the Campaign as well as providing perks that PAL Campaign donors will receive for the Gala and the Telethon. To assist Boardmembers in tracking their donors, staff will distribute at the meeting an updated copy of the Donor Prospect List that indicates their primary contacts for major donors and individual communication she for each major donor. Staff requests that Boardmembers use the communication sheets as a tool of keeping track of each of their prospects and as a means of notifying staff of progress made to date on each of their major donors.
