SUBJECT: SELECTION OF STAKEHOLDER FROM THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
FOR THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ORDINANCE UPDATE
The Advanced Planning staff is in the process of updating the Historic Preservation Ordinance and forming a
stakeholders group in order to solicit community input. Staff has been fortunate to gather interest from
parties within different communities that make up the City of Rancho Cucamonga and anticipates holding a
total of three workshop meetings as part of the Historic Preservation Ordinance update Below are
• stakeholders that have expressed interest in participating in future workshops:
- Representing the Historic Property Owners are:
• Nancy Ruddock (Warren-Thorpe House)
• Marsha Banks (Hippard Ranch)
• Roy LaParry (Albert House)
• Luana Hernandez (Lord House)
• Dennis Parker (Demens-Tolstoy House) (Alternate)
- Representing the Rains House are Maxine and Ralph Strane
- Representirg the Etiwanda Historical Society are John Anicic and Gwyn Frost
Additionally, staff would like both the Planning/Historic Preservation Subcommittee (Diane Williams and Sam
Spagnolo) and a member of the Historic Preservation Commission to take part in the workshops.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Commission select a member of the Historic Preservation
Commission to participate as a stakeholder in the Ordinance update, approve the stakeholder list, and direct
staff to move forward with the Ordinance update.
