CITY OF MNCHO CUCAMONGA STAFF REPORT DATE: February 17, 1987 TO: Mayor and City Council Members FROM: City Council Advisory Commission Subcommittee Deborah Brown, Council Member Charles Suquet, Council Member SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO ADVISORY COMMISSION Background There was an overwhelming response from the community to participate an the newly organized Advisory Commission. In all forty two (42) applications were submitted or on filet thirty seven (37) citizens were interviewed during a two day period which totaled over fourteen hours of Interviews. Overall the quality of applicants was very impressive. It was refreshing to know that so many residents of Rancho Cucanogo kept pace with the events of you community. The selection process took the form of structured Interviews, with each applicant being evaluated as to their background, experlence, ad gialitles they would bring to Hie Advisory Commisslon. RECOMMENDATION It Is the recommendation of the City Council Advisory Commission Subcommittee to appoint the following nine (9) citizens for the terms of office as specified below to the newly reorganized Advisory Commission. It may therefore be appropriate to schedule a Joint nesting between the City Council and all school districts combined, rather than meeting separately over the out year. 1 would appreciate any feedback you have concerning this suggestion. If you would like to meet with the school districts individ"lly, ve have lour elementary districts, a high school district, and the coeminity collage district. Flame let us know bow you feel about this suggestion. If the Council favors this approach, we will attempt to coordinate a joint mating date.
