WHEREAS, the City of Rancho O~monga b~ prepared plans and specificaticrs for the construction of certain improveaents. NOW, IHEREFeRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specificaticsls presented by the City of Rand~ ox'amr,nz/a be and are hereby' ~ as the plans and specifications for "Sierra Madre Street Im/3rc~ement Project, located from Ninth Street to Chaffey Street Alley." BE IT FURITD~ RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as re~,~ed by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for doing the work specified in the aforesaid plans ard specificaticrs, which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following wok-ds and figures, to wit: Pursuant to a Resolutic~ of the Council of the City of Rancho HEREBY GIVEN that the said City of Rancho Ow~.m~rja will receive at the Offioe of the City Clerk in the offices of the City of Rancho OY'~,,~3a, c~ or before the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 1st day of ~h~ 1992, sealed bids or proposals for the "Sierra Madre Street ~nt Project, located frcm Ninth Street to Chaffey Street Alleya' in said City. Bidder's attendance at this meetir~ is a prerequisite for demcrstrating reasorable effcrt to obtain DBE participation. In that regard, the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the Stats of California is required to and has determined such general prevailing rates of per diem wages. If the City of Rancho Cucamonga awards the contract to the next lowest bidder, the amount of the lowest bidder's security shall he applied by the City of Rancho Cucamorr3a to the differenc~ between the low bid and the seoor~ lowest bid, and the surplus, if any, shall he returned to the lowest bidder. No prupc~al will be considered fr~n a Cuntractar where a proposal form has not been issued by the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Contractor shall possess a Class "A" License (General ~gineering CUntractcr) in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's License Law (California Business and Professiors Code, Section 7000 et. seq.) and rules and regulations adopted pursuant thereto at the time this contract is awarded. ~he work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans, and specifications of the City of Rancho Cucamonga on file in the Office of the City Clerk at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Pancho Ok-~monga, California. Copies of the plans and specificatiuns, available at the office of the City Engineer, will be furnished upon application to the City of Rancho O~ramonga and payment of $35.00, said $35.00 is no~refu~able. Upon written request by the bidder, copies of the plans and specifications will be mailed when said request is acc~panied by payment stipulated above, together with an additicr~l nc~re~le payment of $25.00 to cover the cost of mailing ~harges and overhead. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract satisfactary to the City of Rancho C~. In accordance with the requ/re~er~s of Section 902 of the General Provisions, as set forth in the Plans and Specifications ~ the w~rk Contractor's request and at the Contractor's sole cost and expense, substitute authorized securities in lieu of mce~ies withheld (perfu~,,ence retention).
