HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-150 - Resolutions•10 RESOLUTION NO. 84-150 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA DESIGNATING HARDSHIP STATUS ON NON- CONFORMING SIGN(S) IN THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA. WHEREAS, Signs shown on Exhibit "B" are non-conforming signs in accordance to Sign Ordinance of the City of Rancho Cucamonga as amended by Ordinance No. 6 B and; WHEREAS, the owners of said signs as shown on Exhibit "B" have requested the City to consider those signs as a Hardship Designation and; WHEREAS, the Sign Ordinance of the City of Rancho Cucamonga provides for the City to consider Hardship Designation on those situations that have unusual circumstances that preclude normal signing and; WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered all of the applicants requests and has determined that the Sunrize Shopping Center possesses unique and unusual site configuration constraints which preclude normal signage to the center. NOW THEREFORE, the Commission does find as follows: that the Sunrize Shopping Center sign may be designated as a Hardship circumstance, because the site has unique characteristics and features that cause visibility problems. In addition the following findings are made: A. The sign does not create a traffic hazard. B. The sign does not create a visual blight to the community. C. The sign does not adversely affect adjacent properties. D. The sign is properly maintained and structurally sound. E. There is no other sign alternative or design which would be feasible or able to provide reasonable signing in accordance with this Ordinance. APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 12TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1984.
