A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN
AMENDMENT TO TITLE 17, CHAPTER 17.18, OF THE RANCHO
CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING DEVELOPMENT WITHIN
ALQUIST-PRIOLO SPECIAL STUDIES ZONE
WHEREAS, on the 13th day of July, 1988, the Planning Commission held
a duly noticed public hearing pursuant to Section 65864 of the Califoria
Government Code.
SECTION 1: The Rancho Cucamonga Planning Commission has found that
this amendment will not create a significant adverse effect on the environment
and recommends to City Council the issuance of a Negative Declaration on July
13, 1988.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That pursuant to Section 65650 to 65855 of the
California Government Code, that the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Cucamonga hereby
recommends approval of this amendment.
2. The Planning Commission hereby recommends that the
City Council approve this amendment to the Municipal
Code per the attached Ordinance.

regularly introduced, passed, and adopted by the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Cucamonga, at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 17, CHAPTER 17.08,
OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING
MINIMUM REQUIRED SIZES FOR MULTI-FAMILY DWELLINGS
WHEREAS, on the th day of , 1988, the City Council
held a duly noticed public hearing pursuant to Section 65864 of the California
Government Code.
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1 : Section 17.08.0408, Minimum Dwelling Unit Size, is
amended to read as follows:

Single family attached and
detached dwellings 1,000 sq. ft.h regardless of district
Multiple family dwellings3
- Efficiency/Studio 550 sq. ft. regardless of district
- One bedroom 650 sq. ft. regardless of district
- Two bedroom 800 sq. ft. regardless of district
- Three or more bedrooms 950 sq. ft. regardless of district
hA single family dwelling less than 1,000 sq. ft. may be authorized
when a development exhibits innovative qualities in tract, plot and
architectural design through the approval of a Conditional Use Permit.
'Senior citizen projects are exempted from this requirement.
3To assure that smaller units are not concentrated in any one area or
project, the following percentage limitations of the total number of units
shall apply: 10 percent for Efficiency/Studio and 35 percent for One Bedroom
or up to 35 percent combined. Subject to a Conditional Use Permit, the
Planning Commission may authorize a greater ratio of efficiency or one-bedroom
units when a development exhibits innovative design qualities and a balance
mix of unit sizes and types.
SECTION 2: Section 17.08.040C, Minimum Dwelling Unit Size, is
amended to read as follows:
