HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES
• Regular Meeting
June 13, 2012
Chairman Munoz called the Regular Meeting of the City of Rancho Cucamonga Historic
Preservation Commission to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held in the Council Chambers at
Rancho Cucamonga Civic Center, 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Chairman Munoz then led in the pledge of allegiance.
ROLL CALL
COMMISSIONERS: PRESENT: Richard Fletcher, Lou Munoz, Francisco Oaxaca, Ray
Wimberly
ABSENT: Frances Howdyshell
STAFF PRESENT: Candyce Burnett, Senior Planner; Steven Flower, Assistant City Attorney;
Jeff Bloom, Interim Planning Director; Dan James, Senior Civil Engineer;
Mayuko Nakajima, Assistant Planner; Mike Smith, Associate Planner;
Valerie Victorino, Planning Secretary.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
• Chairman Munoz announced that tomorrow is Flag Day and reminded everyone to honor the flag
and our country.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion: Moved by Fletcher, seconded by Oaxaca, carried 3-0-2 (Wimberly abstain, Howdyshell
absent) to approve the minutes of May 23, 2012.
DIRECTOR'S REPORTS
A. UPDATE TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION REGARDING THE
CONDITION STATUS OF THE HISTORIC COUR HOUSE, LOCATED AT 7567 ETIWANDA
AVENUE.
Mayuko Nakajima, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report.
Commissioner Oaxaca thanked staff and reported that he has seen the workers at the house and
they are progressing with positive results.
Chairman Munoz also noted ongoing work at the house and expressed his appreciation of staffs
• work with the owners.
Commissioner Wimberly asked if the owners will be renting it out in the future as originally
suggested.
Ms. Nakajima stated that it is currently a residence and it would have to convert with a change of •
occupancy for any change of further use.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Luana Hernandez announced that the Historic Preservation Society of Rancho Cucamonga would
be having a historical tour this Saturday, June 16th from 11:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and all are invited.
The tour will include the Albert House, the Isaac Lord House,the Old Stone(Methodist) Church and
the Fire Station on San Bernardino Road (#172). Tickets can be purchased at Frame-Art on Base
Line and other businesses in the City.

Motion: Moved by Oaxaca, seconded by Wimberly, carried 4-0-1, to adjourn. The Historic
Preservation Commission adjourned at 7:08 p.m. •
