TO ORDER An adjourned meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council was held on Thursday, June 17, 1993, in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 6:26 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem Charles J. Buquet II. Present were Councilmembers: William J. Alexander, Rex Gutierrez, Diane Willjams, and Mayor Pro Tern Charles J. Buquet II. Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; Jerry B. Fulwood, Deputy City Manager; Rick Gomez, Community Development Director; Linda D. Daniels, Redevelopment Manager; Joe O'Neil, City Engineer, Shintu Bose, Deputy City Engineer; Walt Stickney, Associate Engineer; Cindy Hackett, Associate Engineer; Jerry Grant, Building Official; Robert Dominguez, Administrative Services Director; Susan Stark, Finance Officer; Ingrid Blair, GIS Supervisor; Suzanne Ota, Community Services Manager; Kathy Sorensen, Recreation Superintendent; Paula Pachon, Management Analyst II; Marti Higgins, Disaster Preparedness Manager; Jana Ellis, Disaster Preparedness Specialist; Diane O'Neal, Management Analyst II; Jan Sutton, Deputy City Clerk; Chief Dennis Michael, Deputy Chief Bob Corcoran, and Alex Ahumada, Administrative Services Officer, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District; Capt. Bruce Zeiner, Rancho Cucamonga Police Department; and Debra J. Adams, City Clerk. Absent was: Mayor Dennis L. Stout. B. ADVERTISED PUB!,IC HEARINGS B1. ADOPTION OF FISCAL YEAR 1993/94 BUDGET AND ARTICI .E XIII B APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT Staff report presented by Jack Lain, City Manager. (0205-01 BUDGET) (0401-21 FUND APPRO) Mayor Pro Tem Buquet opened the meeting for public hearing. There being no response, the public hearing was closed. Mayor Pro Tern Buquet stated he agreed with Councilmember Williams' suggestion made during the Redevelopment Agency meeting about the general fund money allocated for the Commissions to go towards the Chamber of Commerce. Councilmember Gutierrez stated that even though he had different opinions about portions of the budget, he appreciated the work that staff has done on the budget document and thanked Joe O'Neil for his help. Councilmember Wi!liams stated she is very impressed that the budge has been cut as much as it has, and asked that Jack Lam and the department heads continue to monitor the budget very closely. City Council Minutes June 17, 1993 Page 2 Councilmember Alexander stated that should the Governor's proposal change, and that if the city can, he would like to see more money go towards public safety. Mayor Pro Tem Buquet stated that even though the budget is up for adoption, there are still many things at the State level that are up in the air; and that should the State back away from their proposal, there would be a lot for the Council to reconsider. He felt the Finance Subcommittee should continue to do the quarterly reviews of the budget. He commended staff for the great job they did on the budget RESOLUTION NO. 93-139 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE CITY'S FISCAL YEAR 1993/94 BUI~ET RESOLUTION NO. 93-140 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING AN APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIII B OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE CONSTITUTION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993/94 MOTION: Moved by Williams, seconded by Alexander to approve Resolution Nos. 93-139 and 93-140. Motion carried unanimously, 4-0-1 (Stout absent). C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBI.IC No communications were made by the public. D. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Moved by Gutierrez, seconded by Williams to adjourn. Motion carded unanimously, 4-0-1 (Stout absent).
