MOTION: Moved by Wright, seconded by King to approve the balance of the Consent Calendar (minus items 8, 19 and 20). Motion carried unanimously 5-0. Discussion of Item 8. Authorize City Corporation Yard security dog. Councilmember Buquet stated he had concerns because of the liability that might be involved if the dog should bite someone. Mayor Stout had concerns as far as the costs involved. MOTION: Moved by Buquet, seconded by Wright to continue the item to March 4 with staff and City Attorney to investigate liability involvement. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. Discussion of Item 19. Approval of Resolution recognizing and designating the A/bert House es an historic landmark within Rancho Cucamonga as recommended by the Historic Preservation Co~mlsslon. City Council Minutes February 18, 1987 Page 7 Mayor Stout questioned why a Resolution was needed to declare this a landmark. He also indicated that posslbly the Historic Preservation Commission should bring back a report on this. Mr. Holley indicated that the Historic Preservation Commission was in favor of this. Motion carried unanimously 5-0. Discussion of Item 20. with public works program monitoring through June 30, 1987. Councilwoman Wright was going to question the expiration date but had just found it. CITY MANa~MR'S STAFF P, BPORTS (28) 01. REPORT ON THE STATUS OF THE FOOTHILL BOULEVARD/INTERSTATE 15 INTERCHANGE MODIFICATION PROJECT. THIS PROJECT IS A PART OF THE STATE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMAND INVOLVES INCREASING THE CAPACITY OFT HE INTERCHANGETO PROVIDE FOR GROWTH IN THAT AREA. Staff report given by Russell Maguire, City Engineer.(ll60-01FREM~AY) Councilmember Buquet said he had asked for this report to be given because this partlcular item had been brought up at a SANBAG meeting. ACTION: Mayor Stout asked for this report to be received and filed. (29) 02. ESTABLISNING A PROGRAM TO COLLECT COMMON MOUSEHOED HAZARDOUS WASTE AT FIRE STATION ~3. Staff report given by Chief Dennis Michael, Foothill Fire Protection District. (1170-02 WASTE/SOL) Chief Michael said he was looking for the endorsement of the City Council on this program. Richard Wilson of the Foothill Fire Protection District and Judy Orkin of the County Health Department also gave reports on this program. Questions were asked of Chief Michael and Richard Wilson regarding the collection of common household hazardous waste materiels. The City Conncil thanked the County Health Department and the Foothill Fire Protection District for the information on this program. B. COUNCIL BUSINESS (30)M1. CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENTS TO THE ADVISORY SUBCOMMITTEE BROWN AND BUQUET). (0701-01 COMMISSION) COMMISSION (CITY COUNCIL City Council Minutes February 18, 1987 Page 9 Councilmember Buquet gave brief report on the selection process for the appoln~ments to the Advisory Commission. He informed the Council that there were 42 applications and 37 interviews completed. Motion carried 5-0. H2. CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENTS TO THE PARK DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (CITY (31) COUNCIL SUBCOMMITTEE KING AND WRIGHT). (0701-01 COMMISSION) Staff report was given by Councilmember King on the appointments to the Park Development Commission. He and Councilmember Wright recommended Pete Pitassi and Leslie Riggs be appointed to the PDC. Councilmember King also suggested that the Ordinance be amended to add two more positions to the Park Development Commission. The subcommittee was suggesting that Sandl Oerly and Mgrio Melendez fill these two positions once the Ordinance is amended. MOTION: Moved by Buquet, seconded by St~t to accept Pete Pitassi and Leslle Riggs to fill the vacant positions on 'the PDC and that it he placed on the March 4, 1987 aSenda to discuss the addition of two more positions on this commission. She stated what had happened was against the CC&R's for this particular development, and that the homeowners in this project wanted Ordinance No. 286 enforced includins any penalties due Mr. Holcolm. (0203-02 TREES) (32) Mayor Stout stated that the petition had been received. MOTION: 7:00 5-0. Moved by Wright, seconded by King to adjourn to February 19, 1987, p.m. for a joint City Council/School District meeting.
