CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the City of Rancho Cucamonga City Council was held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017,
in the Tri-Communities Conference Room at City Hall located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho
Cucamonga, California. Mayor L. Dennis Michael called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.
Mayor Michael led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were Council Members: Bill Alexander, Diane Williams, Mayor Pro Tern Lynne Kennedy, Sam
Spagnolo and Mayor L. Dennis Michael.
Also present were: John Gillison, City Manager; Candyce Burnett, City Planner and Linda Troyan, City Clerk
Services Director.
PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
No communication was made from the public.
C. CONSENT CALENDAR — FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
1. INTERVIEWS FOR THREE POSITIONS ON THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION/PLANNING COMMISSION.
Council confirmed interview questions and the following candidates were interviewed:
12:45 PM – 1:15 PM Jenna Myles
1:15 PM – 1:45 PM David Skolnick
1:45 PM –2:15 PM Richard B. Fletcher
2:15 PM –2:45 PM Tony M. Guglielmo
2:45 PM –3:15 PM Bryan Dopp
3:15 PM –3:45 PM Lou Munoz
3:45 PM– 4:15 PM Francisco Oaxaca
Each Member of the City Council named their top 3 or 4 candidates. Council Member Alexander
recommended the three incumbents (Richard Fletcher, Lou Munoz, and Francisco Oaxaca) be reappointed
to the Commission.
MOTION: Moved by Mayor Michael, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Kennedy, to appoint Tony M. Guglielmo
and reappoint Lou Munoz, and Francisco Oaxaca to the Historic Preservation/Planning
Commission. Motion carried 5-0.
Council requested City staff notify the other applicants to apply to the General Plan Advisory Committee
which will be formed in Spring 2018.
