HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004/10/13 - Minutes - PC-HPC CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Regular Meeting October 13, 2004 Chairman Macias called the Regular Meeting of the City of Rancho Cucamonga Planning Commission to order at 7:05 p.m. The meeting was held in the Council Chamber at Rancho Cucamonga Civic Center, 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, Califomia. Acting Chairman Stewart then led in the pledge of allegiance. ROLL CALL COMMISSIONERS: PRESENT: Richard Fletcher, Cristine McPhail, Pam Stewart ABSENT: Rich Macias, Larry McNiel STAFF PRESENT: Brad Buller, City Planner; Dan Coleman, Principal Planner, Douglas Fenn, Associate Planner; Lois Schrader, Planning Secretary; ANNOUNCEMENTS Brad Buller, City Planner, gave a brief overview of the meeting format and public hearing process. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion: Moved by Fletcher, seconded by McPhail, carried 3-0-2 (Macias, McNiel absent), to approve the minutes of September 8, 2004. No action was taken on the minutes of September 22, 2004 or the adjourned meetings of September 22, and September 25, 2004. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP SUBTPM16769-HARMA MAGHAKIAN-The proposed subdivision of 1.46 acre of land into three parcels plus 1 common landscape parcel in the General Industrial District(Subarea 1), located at the northeast corner of Vineyard Avenue and 8th Street - APN: 0209-013-15. Related files: Development Review DRC2001-00154 and Variance DRC2001-00155. Staff has prepared a Negative Declaration of environmental impacts for consideration. Doug Fenn presented the staff report. Acting Chairman Stewart opened the public hearing. Hearing no comment from the public, she closed the public hearing. Commissioner McPhail commented that the item is an issue of housekeeping and moved to approve the map as presented. Motion: Moved by McPhail, seconded by Fletcher, to approve Tentative Parcel Map SUBTPM16769 by adoption of the Resolution of Approval and to adopt the Negative Declaration of environmental impacts. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: FLETCHER, McPHAIL, STEWART NOES: NONE ABSENT: MACIAS, McNIEL - carried . .. . . PUBLIC COMMENTS Raul Delgado, 1587 West 15th Street, Upland, commented that he would like to know what the City is doing to preserve open space and to conserve land. Mr. Buller suggested he visit the Planning counter and/or review the General Plan at the library for more information on-the city's efforts towards land conservation.
