COMMISSION BUSINESS A. QUARTERLY DISCUSSION AND REVIEWOF DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE PROJECTS - A discussion and review of projects considered by Design Review Committee during previous quarter. The Commission reviewed the list of projects which had gone before the Design Review Committee during the previous quarter. There was general agreement that the Design Review Committee is doing an excellent job of reviewing development projects. The Commission felt that design review is a function of the Design Review Committee, and that Commission meetings are not conducive to design review. Therefore, the Commission agreed that one of the reasons for these quarterly reviews is to maintain an on-going dialogue regarding the process. There was general consensus that field trips to completed projects would be beneficial to see first hand the results of the design review process. Brad Bullet, City Planner, stated that a field trip could be arranged as part of the next quarterly review in January 1999. He indicated that would also coincide with the review of projects completed in 1998 for the annual Design Award of Excellence program. There was general consensus that the Chairman should be the primary spokesperson for responding to reporters. ADJOURNMENT The Planning Commission adjourned at 9:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Secretary PC Adjourned Minutes -2- October 14, 1998
