HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996/10/23 - Minutes - PC-HPC CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Regular Meeting October 23, 1996 Chairman Barker called the Regular Meeting of the City of Rancho Cucamonga Planning Commission to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held in the Council Chamber at Rancho Cucamonga Civic Center, 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Chairman Barker then led in the pledge of allegiance. ROLL CALL COMMISSIONERS: PRESENT: David Barker, William Bethel, Rich Macias, Larry McNiel, Peter Tolstoy ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Tricia Ashby, Secretary; Brad Buller, City Planner; Miki Bratt, Associate Planner; Dan Coleman, Principal Planner; Dan James, Senior Civil Engineer ANNOUNCEMENTS Brad Buller, City Planner, requested that at the end of the meeting the Commission go over the schedule of Commission meetings for the end of November and December. CONSENT CALENDAR A. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT REVIEW 96-21 - BRADSHAW INTERNATIONAL - A request to construct a 208,000 square foot warehouse building on approximately 9.6 acres of land located on the southeast corner of Buffalo Avenue and San Madno Street in the General Industrial Distdct (Subarea 13) of the Industrial Area Specific Plan - APN: 229-263-35. Staff has prepared a Negative Declaration of environmental impacts for consideration. B. VACATION OF A PORTION OF ALMOND AVENUE AND CHERRY AVENUE - A request to vacate a portion of Almond Avenue and Cherry Avenue south of Wilson Avenue. Chairman Barker questioned whether the Vacation of Almond and Cherry Avenues benefitted any padicular company. Dan James, Senior Civil Engineer, replied that it is part of a tract subdivision condition so the City may obtain right-of-way for a trail easement. Moved by Tolstoy, seconded by McNiel, carried 5-0, to adopt the Consent Calendar. DIRECTOR'S REPORTS C. VICTORIA RV STORAGE ANNUAL REVIEW Dan Coleman, Principal Planner, presented the report. Commissioner Tolstoy questioned the capacity of the RV Storage facility. Dan Coleman replied that capacity is for 233 vehicles and that by the last report it was 25 percent vacant. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. COMMISSION BUSINESS Mr. Buller, City Planner, stated that the scheduled meetings for November 27 and December 25 fall the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. He further questioned the availability of the Commissioners for these meetings. Chairman Barker questioned the amount of items about to come before the Commission. Mr. Buller stated that the schedules appear very light at this time and if necessary, a special meeting could be called for any urgent matters. Commissioner Bethel suggested that the meetings be canceled. The Commission concurred. ADJOURNMENT Motion: Moved by McNiel, seconded by Macias, carried 5-0, to adjourn. 7:08 p.m. - The Planning Commission adjourned to a workshop in the Rains Room regarding the Commercial Land Use Study and those minutes will appear separately.
