PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
Adjourned Meeting
February 24, 1996
Chairman Barker called the Adjourned Meeting of the City of Rancho Cucamonga Planning
Commission to order at 2:30 p.m. The meeting was held at 9553 Highland Avenue, Rancho
Cucamonga, California.
ROLL CALL
COMMISSIONERS: PRESENT: David Barker, Heinz Lumpp, John Melcher, Peter Tolstoy
ABSENT: Larry McNiel
STAFF PRESENT: Brad Buller, City Planner; Larry Henderson, Principal Planner
ANNOUNCEMENTS
There were no announcements.
NEW BUSINESS
A. PRE~APPLICATION REVIEW 96-02 - SANBAG - A site visit in connection with a request to
move an existing residence and accessory structures (National Register Eligible) and
conversion of same to an Arts and Crafts Center.
Chairman Barker opened the meeting with brief introduction and tumed the tour over to Knox Mellon,
Phd, representing the Maloof Foundation for a brief overview.
Mr. Mellon in turn introduced Sam Maloof who then conducted the Commission and staff on a tour
of the house and workshop buildings. Mr. Maloof shared his knowledge of the construction of the
structures and his furniture and art collection. In addition, Mr. Maloof explained how the Maloof
Foundation would continue to operate the historic buildings at the new site as a small museum and
ads and crafts center and that a considerable portion of his furniture and ad collection would be
donated as part of that project.
Chairman Barker and the Commissioners present thanked Mr. Mellon and Mr. Maloof for the tour.

There was no additional Commission business.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
