A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, TO APPOINT A
REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO
THE PUBLIC AGENCY RISK SHARING AUTHORITY OF
CALIFORNIA(PARSAC) BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga (the "City") is a party to the Joint Powers
Agreement creating the Public Agency Risk Sharing Authority of California, dated November 19,
1993 (the "Joint Powers Agreement"), and as such, is a Member Agency of the Public Agency
Risk Sharing Authority of California ("PARSAC"), as that term is defined in the Joint Powers
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Joint Powers Agreement, each Member Agency of
PARSAC is required to appoint a Director and an Alternate Director to act in the Director's
absence, to represent the City as if the City itself were present and acting on the PARSAC
Board of Directors for all matters which come before such Board of Directors, and also for the
Director to be eligible for serving on the PARSAC Executive Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga appoints the City Manager to serve as its Director on the PARSAC Board of
Directors to act on behalf of the City, a Member Agency of PARSAC, on all matters to come
before the Board of Directors, as if the City itself were present and acting at such meeting, and
for such Director to be eligible for serving on the PARSAC Executive Committee; and appoints
the Deputy City Manager of Civic and Cultural Services to serve as Alternate Director in the
absence of the Director.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 14-045, passed and adopted on
March 5, 2014, appointing the City Manager as the City's representative to PARSAC and the
Human Resources Director as alternate, be rescinded; that the City Manager, or a designee, be
instructed to inform the Secretary of PARSAC of the above appointment by sending a copy of
this Resolution to PARSAC's business office; and that this resolution shall take effect on
February 7, 2019.
