listed on the agenda. State law prohibits the Animal Care Foundation from addressing any issue not
previously included on the Agenda. The Animal Care Foundation may receive testimony and set the
matter for a subsequent meeting. Comments are to be limited to five minutes per individual.

B. Announcements and Presentations
1. Board Member Renee Hernandez resigned as of October 2017.
2. Community Programs Specialist Barbara announced Holiday Pet Portraits:
December 1111 and 2nd by True Emotions Photography.
3. Barbara set the date for the Winter Wonderland Open House and
Fundraiser: December 11th
4. Barbara said the Furry Friends Flea Market will be held at the Lions
Center West: Saturday, March 10tH
C. Public Communication
1. None.
D. Foundation Business
1. Open recruitment for new board members. An application was available
to download from the city's website for two weeks.
2. The board members liked and agreed to the idea of hiring a professional
accountant to handle the books for the first year.
3. The board members decided not to move forward with hosting a 2018 Golf
Tournament.
E. Identification of Items for the Next Meeting
1. Vice President Suzanne suggested a wine fundraiser: "Bone Appetito"
2. Animal Center Director Veronica will discuss the selection process for
appointing an accountant.
3. The Board Members will need to set a date for interviewing and discuss
specific questions for potential new members.
4. President Mary suggested a Spring Boutique: (May 8th ?)
5. Special Board Meeting is set for January 25, 2018.

B. Announcements and Presentations
1, Barbara announced our foundation will receive donations from Amazon
Smile as we are now registered as a charitable organization.
2. Barbara announced upcoming event: Blaze Pizza fundraiser is February
27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
3. Barbara stated that the Furry Friends Flea Market is Saturday March 10 at
Lions Center West from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
4. Barbara said The Mayor's State of the City Address is set for February 22
from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center.
C. Public Communication
1. None.
D. Foundation Business
1. Welcome New Board Members: Teresa Akahoshi and Nancy King
2. Veronica shared the Profit and Loss Statement for the fiscal year ending
December 2017. It showed $90,000 was raised from donations.
3. Veronica stated that she will send out a weekly newsletter to all board
members.
4. Veronica announced we will potentially be groundbreaking in the next 4 —
5 months for a dog park. And she said Public Works has a proposed plan
to build a permanent warehouse for our kitten nursery in 2019.
E. Identification of Items for the Next Meeting
1. Update on wine fundraiser: "Bone Appetito"
2. Update on Barking Lot Sale 2 — June
3. Special Board Meeting is set for March 1, 2018
