CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
A CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council was held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011,
in the City Council Chambers at the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho
Cucamonga, California. Mayor L. Dennis Michael called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
Present were Council Members: Bill Alexander, Chuck Buquet, Mayor Pro Tem Sam Spagnolo and
Mayor L. Dennis Michael.
Also present were: John Gillison, City Manager, James Markman, City Attorney; Debra L. McNay,
Assistant City Clerk/Records Manager and Shirr'I Griffin, Deputy City Clerk.

C1. Consideration of a Resolution proclaiming the existence of an emergency in the City of Rancho
Cucamonga.
RESOLUTION NO. 2011-180
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, PROCLAIMING THE EXISTENCE OF A
LOCAL EMERGENCY UNDER GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 8630
AND RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.36
John Gillison, City Manager, noted that a revised proclamation was signed this afternoon in order to
ensure that all specific disaster assistance was requested from the State of California.
Breanna Medina, Management Analyst/Emergency Preparedness presented the staff report.
MOTION: Moved by Alexander, seconded by Spagnolo to adopt Resolution No. 2011-180 declaring the
existence of a local emergency in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Motion carried 4-0-1 (Williams was
absent).
