A. CALL TO ORDER
The City of Rancho Cucamonga Public Art Committee held a regular meeting on Tuesday,May 5,2020 by
teleconference due to the Governor's Executive Orders,the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health
requirements,and to ensure the health and safety of Rancho Cucamonga residents by limiting contact that could
spread the COVID-19 virus.Chair Leslie Matamoros called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.
Present were Committee Members:Bryan Dopp,Jaymie Leslie,John L.Machado,Jr.,and Leslie Matamoros.
Also present were Erika Lewis-Huntley,Management Analyst III,and Monica Mahoney,Consultant with Gemini
Projects.
B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
No public communications were made.
C. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
Cl. Selection of Chair and Vice Chair of the Public Art Committee.
Discussion ensued regarding nominations for the Chair and Vice Chair positions for the Public Art Committee.
Leslie Matamoros was nominated for Chair and Jaymie Leslie for Vice Chair.
MOTION:Moved by John Machado and seconded by Jaymie Leslie to approve Leslie Matamoros as Chair of
the Public Art Committee.Moved by John Machado and seconded by Bryan Dopp to approve Jaymie Leslie as
Vice Chair of the Public Art Committee.
C2.Consideration to approve the minutes of April 7,2020.
MOTION: Moved by John Machado,seconded by Jaymie Leslie,to approve meeting minutes of April 7,2020.
C3.Update on the status of the Public Art Fund.
Erika Lewis-Huntley,Management Analyst III,provided an update on the status of the Public Art Fund balance
and reported$136,289 has been received to date.

C4.Discussion of the Public Art Strategic Plan.
Monica Mahoney,Founding Director of Gemini Projects and consultant for the Public Art Strategic Plan,
provided an overview of the project and reviewed outcomes thus far in the process.Monica facilitated an
interactive discussion to further establish the vision,values,and goals of the Public Art Strategic Plan.The
Committee discussed best practices,model public art plans,and stakeholder outreach and engagement.

Chair Leslie Matamoros adjourned the meeting at 6:40 p.m.
