A. Call to Order
The meeting of the Design Review Committee was held on January 5, 2021. The meeting was called to
order by Mike Smith at 7:00pm.
Design Review Committee present: Francisco Oaxaca, Diane Williams, Mike Smith.
Staff Present: Sean McPherson, Senior Planner; Dat Tran, Assistant Planner.
B. Public Communications
Mike Smith opened the public communication and hearing no comment, closed public communications.
C. Consent Calendar
C1. Consideration to adopt Regular Meeting Minutes of November 10, 2020.
Motion by Oaxaca, second by Williams. Motion carried 3-0 to adopt the minutes as presented.
D. Project Review Items
D1. DESIGN REVIEW DRC2019-00371 (LOCATED ON A VACANT PARCEL ADDRESSED 8281
UTICA AVENUE) — BLUE ENGINEERING & CONSULTING, INC. - A request for site plan and
architectural review of an industrial building totaling 13,116 square feet on 0.72 acres of land
located on a vacant parcel addressed 8281 Utica Avenue in the Industrial Park (IP) District;
APN: 0208-062-10. This item is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) and the City's CEQA guidelines under CEQA Section 15332 — In -Fill
Development Projects.
Staff provided a brief presentation of the project. The Committee was very supportive of the project,
remarking specifically on the variety of materials used in the design. The applicant was in attendance and
made himself available for questions or concerns from the DRC. Members had no questions or concerns
relative to the design of the building. The Committee recommended approval of the project to the Planning
Commission.
The Committee took the following action:
x Recommend approve to PC/PD.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:25pm.
