The design of such trails shall be based on Citywide Feeder Trail standards, provided that such trails may be combined with optional provisions for bicycle and pedestrian use, per Section .400 below. • ESP Section 402 (E) Greenways: On-site greenways shall be designed to link In the EQ/OL District, provide for equestrian (Feeder Trail) use. • ESP Section 505: Keeping of Horses in Projects Developed under Optional Development Standards: Up to one horse/10,000 sq. ft. of total project area, provided however, that no horses may be kept on individual lots smaller than 20,000 sq. ft . CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA 00• General Plan Equestrian/Rural Overlay The Equestrian/Rural Overlay District allows for the keeping of horses and other farm animals, subject to regulations specified in the Development Code. All new developments within this overlay zone are required to provide community and local trails for equestrian use in accordance with the Hiking and Riding Trails. Staff Comments • Staff supports the overall project and the use of the optional development standards, which will allow houses to face both sides of the proposed new street; • The use of the basic development standards would have resulted in a single- loaded street with lots that were much deeper and larger than those in the surrounding area; • The inclusion of the equestrian trail will provide a trail connection between East Avenue and Golden Lock Place; • The proposed Minor Exception for wall height along the south property line is necessary due to the on-site grades. Staff Recommendation: Staff requests that the Trails Advisory Committee consider the proposed trail network recommend approval as proposed by the applicant.
