A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING MICHAEL
A. PALOMBO FOR HIS SERVICES AS A MEMBER OF THE
CITY COUNCIL
WI~EREA~, the citizens of the newly incorporated City of Rancho
Cucamonga elected Michael A. Palombo to serve as one of the original
five City Council members in November of 1977, and to a second term in
April of 1980; and
WHEREAS, Councilman Michael A. Palombo represented the City of
Rancho Cucamonga on the California League of Cities Public Safety Committee,
West Valley Transportation Authority, Senate Select Committee on Trans-
portation and the City Council Finance Committee; and
WHEREAS, Michael A. Palombo during his tenure as a member of
the Rancho Cucamonga City Council continually provided to his colleagues
and to the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga on outstanding example of leadership,
dedication, and competence; and
WHEREAS, while a member of the City Council, Michael A. Palombo
was instrumental in improving the economic and social well-being of the
community by participating in the adoption of the city's first General
Plan, the completion of Alta Loma Park, the acquisition of Heritage
Park, and numerous other accomplishments which will have a lasting
impact upon the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rancho Cucamonga City
Council, on behalf of its 56,000 citizens hereby commends Michael A.
Palombo for his outstanding leadership while serving as a member of the
first City Council and extends best wishes for continued success in his
future endeavors.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 1982.
