A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING HARRY EMPEY FOR HIS
SERVICE TO THE CITY AS CITY TREASURER
WHEREAS, Harry J. Empey served the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga as
City Treasurer from January of 1978 until April of 1984; and
WHEREAS, Harry J. Empey, as the City's first City Treasurer,
instituted the Office of City Treasurer in January of 1978; and
WHEREAS, Harry J. Empey maintained the investment of the City's idle
funds to assure the highest possible investment return, and initiated the cash
flow and investment program for the City of Rancho Cucamonga; and
WHEREAS, Harry J. Empey, as City Treasurer, issued the City's first
bond in July of 1984 for land improvements in the Rancho Cucamonga industrial
area; and
WHEREAS, Harry J. Empey has provided outstanding leadership and
service to the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga, and to his colleagues while
successfully executing the duties of City Treasurer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rancho Cucamonga City Council,
on behalf of its citizens, does hereby commend Harry J. Empey for his
outstanding leadership and service while serving as the first City Treasurer of
the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 1984.
