HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-107 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 84-107 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING JAMES C. FROST FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY AS MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILMEMBER WHEREAS, James C. Frost, was elected one of the original five councilmembers by the citizens of the newly incorporated City of Rancho Cucamonga in November of 1977, and served a second council term from April of 1980 through April of 1984; and WHEREAS, James C. Frost served as the City's first Mayor from November of 1977 through April of 1980; and WHEREAS, James C. Frost represented the City of Rancho Cucamonga on the League of California Cities, the San Bernardino Association of Governments, the City Council Park Acquisition Committee, the West Valley Transit Committee, the City Flood Control Committee, the Foothill Freeway Committee, and numerous other council representative organizations; and WHEREAS, James C. Frost, while Mayor and Councilman, was instrumental in improving the economic and social well-being of the community by participating in the adoption of Rancho Cucamonga's first general plan, the industrial area specific plan, the completion of Alta Loma Park, the acquisition of Heritage Park, and numerous other significant accomplishments which will have a lasting impact upon the City of Rancho Cucamonga; and WHEREAS, James C. Frost, during his tenure as mayor and as a member of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, continually provided to his collegues and to the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga an outstanding example of leadership, dedication, and competence. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, on behalf of its citizens, hereby commends James C. Frost for his outstanding leadership and dedication while serving as the City's first Mayor and as a member of the first Rancho Cucamonga City Council, and extends best wishes for continued success in future endeavors.
