HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-106 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 84-106 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 18 WHICH PLACES BEFORE THE VOTERS OF CALIFORNIA, JUNE 5, 1984, A BOND MEASURE TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL LAND ACQUISITION, DEVELOOPMENT AND OTHER RELATED PURPOSES WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs vastly enhance our environment and our lives; and WHEREAS, leisure facilities and open spaces in both urban and rural areas are a necessity to life, since they have a substantial effect on mental and physical health, economic productivity and social problems; and WHEREAS, Proposition 18 would place before the voters of California a measure to provide financing of a program of acquiring, developing, or restoring real property for State and local park, beach, recreatioal or historical resources preservation purposes; and WHEREAS, the proposed program wil make available additional, or augment existing, recreation areas and add or improve facilities in and near population centers; and WHEREAS, enhancement of parks, conservation of natural resources and historic preservation projects have direct economic benefit to our community and the State as a whole; and moreover, will benefit the health and well-being of Californians. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Rancho Cucamonga record in support of Proposition 18. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 18th day of April, 1984.
