A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA OPPOSING THE PROPOSED CHANGE IN THE CITY'S
SPHERE OF INFLUENCE AND THE ANNEXATION BY THE CITY OF
FONTANA OF A PORTION OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA'S EXISTING
SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
WHEREAS, the area described in Exhibit "A", generally located north
of S~mmm~t Avenue and East of San Sevaine Creek is located within the City's
established Sphere of Influence; and,
WHEREAS, said area is contiguous to current City Limits; and,
WHEREAS, the development of said area will have a direct and severe
impact on the City of Rancho Cueamonga; and,
WHEREAS, the area is currently accessible only through the City of
Rancho Cueamonga; and,
WHEREAS, plans for the area have been considered as part of the
City's General Plan; and,
WHEREAS, it is the City's intention to provide the usual and
necessary public services to the area in a timely and orderly fashion; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Fontana has filed a petition with the Local
Agency Formation Commission to annex said area to the City of Fontana with the
intention of accommodating premature development in the area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga does hereby express its strong opposition to the proposed
change in the City's Sphere of Influence boundaries and to the annexation by
the City of Fontana of a portion of Rancho Cucamonga's Sphere of Influence.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 20th day of June, 1984.
