HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-10 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 83-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING POPULATION PER DWELLING UNIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING CHAPTER 16.32 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE DEDICATION OF PARK AND RECREATION LAND WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, has adopted Chapter 16.32 of the Municipal Code, relating to regulations for dedication of land, payment of fees, or both, for park and recreational land in subdivisions and planned communities; and WHEREAS, Chapter 16.32 of the Municipal Code establishes a formula requiring as a component, "(the) population per dwelling unit on a scale and density set by the responsible public agency", and WHEREAS, State law, effective January 1, 1983, requires that population components employed in park dedication formulas, such as that contained within Chapter 16.32 of the Municipal Code, be reflective of the "average size of each class of household" by the most recent Federal or State census which discloses such information; THEREFORE, BE IT NOW RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California as follows: That the City Council shall determine and set by resolution the average population for each class of household based upon the most recent Federal or State census disclosing such information; and , e That the City Council shall review and adjust, by Resolution, if warranted, the population for each class of household as revised Federal or State census information is issued; and That the average population for each class of household unit in Rancho Cucamonga, per the State Department of Finance Special Census of April of 1979, is established as follows: Co Single Family Detached population per unit is 3.43 persons; Duplex residential structure population for each unit contained therein is established at 2.43 persons; Triplex residential structure population for each unit contained therein is established at 2.29 persons; Fourplex residential structure population for each unit contained therein is established at 2.75; Multi-family residential structures containing 5 to 9 residential units per structure, has established a population for each unit contained therein of 1.52 persons; Multi-family residential structures containing 10 or more residential units per structure has established a population for each unit contained therein of 1.53 persons. Resolution No. 83-10 Page 2 This Resolution shall be applicable to calculating the dedication of land,payment of fees, or both, for park and recreational land as required by Chapter 16.32 of the Municipal Code, for tentative maps or parcel maps approved on or after January 1, 1983. Tentative maps or parcel maps approved prior to or on December 31, 1982, will comply with existing law then in place at the time map approval was granted.
