HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-7 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 83-7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, RECOGNIZING THE ETIWANDA CAIRNS AS A SIGNIFICANT HISTORIC FEATURE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA AND THEREFORE DESIGNATING IT AS A CITY HISTORIC LANDMARK. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, has adopted Chapter 2.24 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code relating to historic preservation; and WHEREAS, the Rancho Cucamonga Historic Preservation Commission has investigated the historic significance of the Cairns and has held public hearings concerning the cairns in accordance with Chapter 2.24 of the Rancho Cueamonga Municipal Code relating to historic preservation; and WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission has found the Etiwanda Cairns to be a significant historic feature of the City, and thereby recommends the Cairns for designation as a City Historic Landmark. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, as follows: The City Council finds and determines that the Etiwanda Cairns, located on the north 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of the northwest 1/4 of Section 29, TIN R6W, of the San Bernardino County Book of Maps (general location, south of Wilson, west of Hanley) has met the criteria established for designation as a City Historic Landmark, and therefore, and with the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission, designates the Etiwanda Cairns as a City Historic Landmark.
