A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANfMO
O3CAM~NGA, CALIFORNIA, REPROGRAMMING $300,000 OF AVAILABLE
COMM3NITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO NORTH TOWN PARK
DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga operates a Community Development
Block Grant Program in compliance with the regulations established by the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, $300,000 of Block Grant funding is available for
reprogramming; and
WHEREAS, the $300,000 was previously allocated to develo~men: of the
North Town park site;
WHEREAS, an environmental assessment has been prepared with a finding
of no significant impact on the envirom~ent under the National Envirommental
Policy Act and a mitigated Negative Declaration under the California
Environmental Quality Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a duly noticed public hearing to
receive public input on the use of these funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, California does hereby take the following acttona~
1. Determine that development of the park in the flood plain is the
only reasonable alternative and that all potential adverse
impacts of the project have been adequately mitigated.
2. Direct staff to f~le a Notice of Determination and Finding of no
significant impact for the project under the National
Environmental Policy Act.
3. Direct staff to prepare a mitigated Negative Declaration under
the California Environmental Quality Act.
4. Approve the reprogr~mming of $300,000 in CDBG funds from the
Turner Avenue Storm Drain to the North Park Project.
5. Direct staff to transmit information on this reprogrsmming to
staff at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
