HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-232 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 88-232 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANC~{O CUCAMDNGA, CALIPORNIA, APPROVING AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING DATE OF WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 1988 FOR ]ME PROPOSED ETIWANDA STORM DRAIN ENVIRON~NTAL ASSESS~NT REVIEW WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the City's Engineering Staff and Associated Engineers to proceed with formal designs for a flood control facility serving the Etlwanda Storm Drain area; and WHEREAS, said designed storm drain requires an Enviror~ental Assessment; and WHEREAS, an Enviro~ental Assessment has been prepared pursuant to the California Envirors~ental Quality Act, as amended. NOW, THERE~DRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1: The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga hereby approves and sets a public hearing date of Wednesday, May 18, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. to be held at the Lions Park Community Center, 9161 Base Line Road, Rancho Cucamonga, California, for the Etiwanda Storm Drain Environmental Assessment Rev iew; and Section 2: The City Clerk is directed to submit the attached City of Rancho Cucamonga Environmental Assessment Notice for advertisement to the Daily Report by Priday, April 29, 1988 for a one-time publication on Friday, May 6, 1988, ten calendar days prior to said public hearing date pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (GEQA) requirements. Beverly A.-/Aut'h~let, City / -- Resolution No. 88-232 Page 3 CITY OF RANCMO CUCAMDNGA ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT NOTICE Complete environmental assessments have been prepared for the following project(s). The City Council will be considering these assessments, staff's recommendation, and public input, at their meeting of May 18, 1988 prior to making a final environmental determination. Following is a brief description and location of the project(s) and staff's recommendation on the project(s) to be considered. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND NEGATIVE DEf~ARATION FOR THE PROPOSED ETIWANDA STORM DRAIN - CITY OF RANCHO GJCAMONGA - The project begins north of Victoria Storm Drain Basin, traverses northerly, crossing under Highland Avenue and Foothill Freeway corridor to a temporary ending. The drain terminates temporarily north of the freeway corridor from which the line will eventually extend westerly along the freeway corridor to pickup drainage from the north and west and in particular drainage from East and Etiwanda Avenues. STAFF REGOMPENDATION: It is recommended that City Council approve the Environmental Assessment and issuance of a Negative Declaration for the proposed Etiwanda Storm Drain. A copy of the Environmental Assessment can be reviewed at the City of Rancho Cucamonga Engineering Division Office located at 9320 Base Line Road, Suite "C", Rancho Cucamonga, California. Written comments should be addressed to the Engineering Division, City of Rancho Cucamonga, P.O. Box 807, Rancho Cucamonga, California, 91730, or phoned at (714) 989-1862. In addition, concerns can be addressed to the City Council publicly at the meeting time previously mentioned. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and shall take place at Lions Park Community Center, 9161 Base Line Road, Rancho Cucamonga, California. PUBLISH: May 6, 1988
