HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-503 - Resolutions RESGLUTION NO. 88-503 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUCA~DNGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING DESIGNATION OF THE G.P. LEDIG HOUSE LOCATED AT 5702 AMETHYST AVENUE AS A LANDMARK WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission has held a duly advertised public hearing to consider all comments on the proposed Landmark Designation and issued Resolution No. 86-111 recommending to this City Council that said Landmark Designation be approved. WHERE,, the City Council has received and reviewed all input frc~ the Historic Preservation Commission regarding said Landmark Designation. WHEREAS, all legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Resolution have occurred. NOW, THEREFORE, the Rancho Cucamonga City Council hereby specifically finds, determines, and resolves as follows: SECTION 1: The application applies to property located at Assessor Parcel Number 1062-071-08. SECTION 2: The proposed landmark meets the following criteria established in Chapter 2.24.090 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code: A. Historical and Cultural Significance: 1. The proposed landmark is particularly representative of a historical period, style, and way of life. 2. The proposed landmark is an example of a type of building which was once common but is now rare. 3. The proposed landmark was connected with an important local personal ity. B. Historic Architectural and Engineering Significance: 1. The overall effect of the design of the proposed landmark is beautiful, or its details and materials are beautiful or unusual. Resolution No. 88-503 Page 2 C. Neighborhood and Geographic Setting: 1. ~e proposed landmark in its location represents an established and familiar visual feature of the community. (Ord. 70 S9, 1979). SECTION 3: Designation of a landmark is exempt from CEQA (Article 19, Section 153 08). SECTION 4: Based on the substantial evidence received and reviewed by this Council and based on the findings set forth above, NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rancho Cucamonga City Council does hereby approve designation of the G.P.
