A RESOLUTION OF ~HE CIT~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
COCA~DL~A, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE WORK IN CONNECTION
WITH ANNEXATION NO. 46 TO STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO. 1 AND ACCEPTING THE FINAL ENGINEER'S REPORT
FOR TRACT NOS. 12650, 12650-4. 13715. 13697 AND 13742
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga did on the
1st day of June, 1988, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 88-356 to order
the therein described work in connection with Annexation No. 46 to Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 1, which Resolution of Intention No. 88-356
was duly and leially published in the t/me, form and manner as required by law.
shown by the Affidavit of Publication of said Resolution of Intention on file
in the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notice of the passage of said
Resolution of Intention, headed "Notice of Improvement", was du/y and legally
posted in the time, form, manner, location, and number as required by law, a~
appears from the Affidavit of Posting said notices, on file in the office of
the City Clerk~ and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notices of the adoption of the
Resolution of Intention were duly mailed to all persona owning rea/ property
proposed to be assessed for the improvements described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 88-356, according to the names and addresses of such owners as
the same appears on the last mailing or as known to the City Clerk of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, which said copies were duly mailed in the time, form, and
manner as required by law, as appears from the Affidavit of Maillng on file in
the office of the City ClerkI and
WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received considered evidence.

SECTION 1: It is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga that the public interest and convenience requires the
annexation to the District and the ordering of the work. and said City Council
hereby orders that the work, as set forth and described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 88-356, be done and made$ and
SECTION 2: The Report filed by the Engineer is hereby finally
approved~ and

SECTION 3 ~ The assessments and method of assessment in the Engineer's
Report are hereby approved.
SECTION 4: The assessments shall not begin until after 60 percent of
said tracts have been occupied.

Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 1
Annexation No. 46 for
Tract Nos. 12650, 12650-4, 13715, 13697 and 13742
SECTION 1. Authority for Report
This report is in compliance with the requirements of Artlcle 4, Chapter 1,
Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code, State of Callfornla (Landscaping
and Lighting Act of 1972).
SECTION 2. General Description
This City Councll has elected to annex all new development's into Street
Lighting Maintenance District NO. 1. The City Council has determined that the
street llghts to be maintained will have an effect upon all lots within said
develot~aents as well as on the lots directly abutting the street lights.
Work to be provided for with the assessments established by the districi
are:
The furnishing of services and materlals for the ordinary and usual
maintenance, operating and servicing of street light improvements on
ma]or streets (arterlal and certain collector streets) as shown on the
Lighting District Atlas Map which is on file with the City Engineer.
Improvement maintenance is considered of general benefit to all areas
in the District and cost shall be assessed on a per unit basis.
SECTION 3, Plans and Specifications
The plans and specifications foe street lightlng have been prepared by the
developers. The plans and street llghts are as stipulated in the conditions of
approval for the develo~aent and as approved by the City Engineering Division.
Reference is hereby made to the subject tract map or development plan and the
assessment diagram for the exact locatlon of the street lighting areas. The
plans and specifications for street llghting improvement on the individual
develo~aent is hereby made a part of this report to the same extent as if said
plans and specifics were attached hereto.
Detailed maintenance activities on the street llghtlng district
include: the repair, removal or replacement of all or any part of any
improvement, providing for the i11umlnation of the subject area.
SECTION 4. .Estimated Costs
No costs will be incurred for street lighting improvement construction.
All improvements will be constructed by developers. Based on available data,
it is estimated that maintenance costs for assessment purposes will be as
indicated below. These costs are estimated only, actual assessments will be
based on actual cost data.

Street Lighting Maintenance District No. I has been demarcated into two
zones. Zone I is comprised of street light ~aprovements on major streets for
residentlal ~mprovement s (single family, multi- family, condominiums and
apartments) throughout the City. Each dwe11ing unit in this zone will be
assessed as one assessment unit for the operation of the District.
Zone 2 is comprised of all industrial, commercial and
projects throughout the City. It has been determined that one acre of land in
industrial, commerclal and institutional areas derives the same benefit as two
assessment units in Zone 1.
The estimated total cost for Lighting Maintenance District No. I is shown
below:

SECTION 5. Assessment Diagra~

labeled "Street Lightin$ Maintenance District No. 1", Annexation No. ~6. These
dlagra~s are hereby incorporated within the text of this report.
S~.CTION 6. Assessment
Improvements for the District are found to be of general benefit to all
units within the District and that assessment shall be equal for each unit.
When units are based on acreage, assessment will be 2 units per net acre.
SECTION 7. Order of Events
1. City Councll adopts Resolutlon of Prelimlnary Approval of Cit-y Engineer's
Report.
2. City Council adopts Resolution of Intention to annex a District and sets
public hearing date.
3. City Councll conducts public hearing, considers all testimony
determines to form a District or abandon the proceedings.
4. Every year in May, the City Engineer files a report with the City Council.
5. Every year in June, the City Councll conducts a publlc hearin8 and
approves, or modifies and approves the indlvldual assessments.
