A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN A
SERVICE DELIVERY AREA WITHIN THE WEST VALLEY OF SAN
BERNARDINO COUNT~
WHEREAS, The West Valley Cities of Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario,
Rancho CucamonEa, Rialto, and Upland are contiguous and comprise a common labor
market area; and
WHEREAS, these West Valley Cities are deei rous of providing the most
effective and efficient employment and training services to their residents,
thereby increasing employment levels, improving the regional economic climate,
and reducing the number of non-productive citizens; and
WHEREAS, the California Family Economic Security Act (FESA) and the
U.S. Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA, Public Law 97-300) authorize the
formation of a Service Dellvex7 Area in the West Valley to accomplish these
purposes; and
WHEREAS, other West Valley Cities have agreed together to cooperate in
the administration and deliver3, of services under the Job Training Partnership
Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of On=ario is willing to be the lead agency to
administer the program and provide employment and training services to
residents of each participating West Valley City.
NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga intends to participate with other West Valley Cities in the
creation and oversight of a Service DeliveTy Area in the West Valley of San
Bernardino County, with the expectation that the new Service Deliver~ Area will
be operational on July I, 1986.
