A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCNO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE THE REVISED
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGMMENT MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS, The State of California has adopted the Solid Waste
Management and Resource Recovery act of 1972 (Sections 66700 and 66793,
Goverru~ent Code); and
WHEREAS, said Act requires each County to prepare a Solid Waste
Management Master Plan; and
WHEREA~, Section 66780.5 of said Government Code requires that the
Master Plan be revised at least every three years from the date of initial
approval; and
WHEREAS, the original Solid Waste Management Master was approved by a
majority of the cities containin~ a majority of the population of the
incorporated areas in 1975; and
WHEREAS, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has
authorized revision of the said Plan; and
WHEREA~, Section 66780 of said Government Code requires the revised
Sold Waste Management Master Plan for San Bernardino County be approved by a
majority of the cities containing a majority of the population of the
incorporated areas; and
W~'EREA~, said Master Plan has been reviewed by the City Council of
the City of Rancho Cucamon6a.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga does hereby approve said Master Plan, in principle,
concurring in its overall design, objectives and proposed implementation,
however reserves the right to accept or re3ect the proposed waste to energy
project through a service or waste supply agreement until all phases have been
reviewed; and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga does hereby reserve the right to reconsider said Master Plan after
the San Bernardino County Solid Waste Advisory Council has reviewed and
forwarded a final recommendation to the San Bernardino County Board of
Supervisors.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 20th day of November, 1985.
