A RESOLUTIO~ OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EANCRO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, R~SCINDING RESOLUTION 86-130 IN ITS
ENTIRETY, AND AGREEING TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE CALIFORNIA
MUNICIPAL INSURANCE AUTHORITY AND PARTICIPATE IN ITS
LIABILITY PRC~RAN
HNER&s.,S, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 6500 and following,
990.4 and 990.8 of the Government Code, this city wishes to enter in~o an
agreement with various other public entities entitled 'Joint Powers Agreement
Creating the California Municipal Insurance Authority' (the 'Authority'), for
the purpose of obtaining coverage in'the Liability Program of the Join~ Powers
Authority created thereby, as more fully set forth in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the estimated deposit premium to be paid by this city for
said liability coverage is the sum of $113,953; and
HHEREAS, said Liability Program offers significant advantages co ~bis
city in terms of cost, coverqe and services and encerinK such Program, on the
conditions hereinafter set forth, appears to be in the best interest of this
city.
N(N, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rancbo Cucamonga:
SECTION 1: That this city authorize Jim Hart, Administrative
Services Director, to execute the Joint Powers Agreement on behalf of this
city.
SECTION 2: That the City of Hancho Cucamon~a hereby consents
pursuant to the above-mentioned Joint Powers Agreement, and the resolutions and
policies enacted in implementation of such Agreement, Co enter said Liability
Program on the following conditions:
(a)
That the estimated deposit premium for this city for
the July 1, 1986-87 Liability Program Year, as
determined by the Authority, shall be paid in the
amount of $113,953 to obtain coveraBe.
SKCTIeN 3: That the city hereby selects $I00,000 as its Self-Insured
Retention (SIR) for the July 1, 1986-87 Liability Progras Year; which SIR it
recognises will be one of the factors to be utilized in computin8 this city's
Retrospective Premiums and related Retrospective Premium Adjustments. '
SECTI~m 4: That the city hereby selects $5 million as its Limits of
Liability for the July l, 1986-87 Liability Progras Year.
SBCTIfM 5~ That the city hereby designates Jim Hart, Administrative
Services Director, whose address is P.O. Box 807, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 as
its representative on the California Municipal Insurance Authority's Board of
Directors.
SRCTIrm 6: That the Treasurer of the city is hereby authorized to
pay to the California Municipal Insurance Authority the amount of $113,953 for
its July 1, 1986-87 Liability Program Year estimated deposit premius.
SECTIrma 7: That the Secretary of the city is directed to certify a
co~y of this resolution and to forward the same resolution, the signed
Agreement, and the deposit premium estimate paymont promptly by mail to ~be
California Municipal Insurance Authority, 4921 Darn Way, Fair Oaks, California,
95628, for coversEe beginning July 1, 1986.
