HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-294 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 89-294 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE PRESERVATION OF THE EXISTING RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAYS FOR ALTERNATIVE CIRCULATION CORRIDORS WHEREAS, there may be a possibility of future sale of the existing railroad right-of-ways within the City of Rancho Cucamonga by the railroads; and WHEREAS, the General Plan designates both the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe and Southern Pacific lines as transportation corridors; and WHEREAS, the General Plan encourages the further study into the implementation of commuter rail services and development site criteria for multi-model transit stations along these rail facilities; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to the pursuit of alternative modes of transportation that will provide cleaner and more efficient travel for its citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby resolve and is committed to the preservation of the railroad right- of-ways as circulation corridors.
