HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-102 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 79-102 A RESOLUTIO~ OF 'FHE CITY COLqqCIL OF Tiie CITY OF RA~\C}~r CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE ADOPTED INTERIM LAXD USE, CIRCULATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES ELEMENT OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, the City has established the second meeting in September as the 1979 General Plan Amendment hearing date for Planning Commission review; and ~EREAS, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing to consider amendments to the General Plan; and WHEREAS, comments were heard and considered both pro and con regarding the requested General Plan Amendment; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended for consideration by the Council four General Plan Amendments; and WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on December 5, 1979, to consider comments pro and con regarding the General Plan Amendments recommended by the Planning Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rancho Cucamonga City Council does hereby amend the General Plan Land Use Element as follows: SECTION 1: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03D, amend the Land Use Map to lands bounded by Red Hill Country Club Drive, Tapia Via, Rancheria Drive, and San Bernardino Road including lands 160' east of Tapia Via and south 300' from San Bernardino from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential (Exhibit "A"). SECTION 2: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03E, amend the Land Use Map for the northwest corner of Base Line Avenue and Haven Avenue from Medium Density Residential to Low Density Residential (Exhibit "B"). SECTION 3: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-03F, amending and clarifying the definition of Alternative Commercial Site as shown on Exhibit "C" through "H" and adding the following policy changes to the General Plan Text: _ 1. Alternative Commercial Asterisks shown on the General Plan are only general locations and show that there is a potential for the location of shopping centers in that immediate area. Depending upon the size of the property and the market area served, the commercial center may be either neighborhood or community. 2. No more than two commercial centers are to be located at any one intersection. 3. For neighborhood centers, sites should fall within the approximate size range of 3 to 8 acres and for a community shopping center, sites should fall within the approximate range of 10 to 30 acres. 4. Commercial centers should be located at least 1/2 mile apart except for the two allowed at intersections. 5. When asterisks are located at other than the intersection, they are specific to that site and do not provide for the location of a shopping center in the general vicinity. SECTION 4: For General Plan Amendment No. 79-031, amend the Land Use Map for the property beginning at a point 600' west of Haven on the north side of Base Line and extending approximately 670' along Base Line and extending north to the Pacific Electric Railraod right- of-way from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential (Exhibit "I'). SECTION 5: Recommend adoption of the Negative Declaration for each of the General Plan Amendments, 79-03D, 79-03E, 79-03F, and 79-031. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 19th day of December, 1979.
