A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SiN BERNARDI~ COUNTY
TO CONSTRUCT SIGNALS AT NINETEENTH STREET AND CARNELIAN
STREET
WHEREAS, the project for the construction of a signal at
Nineteenth Street and Carnelian Street was included in the San Bernardino
County Road Budget at the time of incorporation of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga; and
WHEREAS, the City and County have agreed that the project
should be completed by the County in the same manner as originally
planned; and
WHEREAS, State Law provides for the acceptance of City streets
into the County Road System for purposes of construction (to comply
with requirements that County Road funds be spent solely on the County
Road System);
WHEREAS, upon completion of the of the construction it will
be appropriate for the City to resume all maintenance responsibility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Rancho Cucamonga requests the County to arrange for and administer
the construction of signals at Nineteenth Street and Carnelian Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council consents to
designation of Carnelian Street from 300 feet south and north of the
centerline of Nineteenth Street as a County Road from the date of
award of a contract to acceptance of the contract as complete; and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that upon acceptance of the contract
as complete by the County Board of Supervisors, Carnelian Street shall
automatically revert to City street status and all maintenance responsi-
bility assumed by the County during the construction period shall become
the responsibility of the City.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 5th day of December, 1979.
