HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-98 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 79~98 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, TO THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION. WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, that the California Energy Commission Staff is forecasing an annual growth of peak electric power demand of 1.4% for Southern California for the years 1978 through 1990, and WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga believes this forecasted rate of growth to be inconsistent with, and considerably less than, the City's recent growth trends, and WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga is also concerned that restricting the growth of electrical power can adversely affect present and future economic conditions and could have a severe impact of the general health and safety of the City citizenry, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Rancho Cucamonga hereby requests the California Energy Commission to (1) carefully analyze the basis and reasonableness of the Commission Staff's preliminary forecast for electrical power growth within our area and (2) assure the citizenry of the City of Rancho Cucamonga that sufficient energy resources will continue to be available for the balance of this century to promote commerce and a better standard of living for all concerned.
