HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-40 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 79-40 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING CHARLES A. WEST FOR HIS SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL. WHEREAS, the citizens of the newly incorporated City of Rancho Cucamonga elected Charles A. West to serve as a member of the City Council on November 8, 1977; and WHEREAS, Councilman Charles A. West was elected by his colleagues to serve as Mayor Pro-Tem after assuming office on December 2, 1977; and ~HEREAS, during his tenure as a member of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, Charles A. West continually provided to his colleagues and to the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga an outstanding example of leadership, dedication, and competence; and WHEREAS, while a member of the City Council, Charles A. West was instrumental in improving the economic and social well-being of the community by participating in decisions regarding the adoption of the city's first general plan, the completion of Alta Loma Park, the acquisition of Heritage Park, and numerous other accomplishments which will have a lasting impact upon the City of Rancho Cucamonga; and WHEREAS, because Mayor Pro-Tem West's employer transferred him to Toledo, Ohio, has offered his resignation as a member of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Rancho Cucamonga City Council, on bebalf of its nearly 50,000 citizens hereby commends Charles A. West for his outstanding leadership while serving as a member of the first City Council and extends best wishes for continued success in his future endeavors.
