HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-06 - Resolutions ._RESOLUTION NO. 79-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFOINIA, SUPPORTING THE RAiqCHO CUCkMONGA SHERIFF'S STATION'S PROPOSED GRANT TO FINANCE A C~M2qUNITY JUVENILE CRI}~ PREVENTION UNIT UNDER ASSEMBLY BILL 90. ~IEREAS, the San Bernardino County Justice System Advisory Group, the Arrowhead Justice Association, has indicated its intent to receive funding requests for the use of funds available through the County Justice System Subvention Program; and, ~IEREAS, it is estimated that between B1,4OO,qO0 and $1,600,00~ may be'available for programs commencing on July 1, 1979, and terminating June 30, 1980; and, %~EREAS, these funds are generally available to counties for funding ongoing and new programs aimed at maintaining or improving the local criminal justice system; and, WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga wishes to participate in the program by funding a Community Juvenile Crime Prevention Unit; and, WHEREAS, the City has requested ~69,466 of the available funds for the project: and, WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the Community Juvenile Crime Prevention Program will reduce the crime rate involving juvenile offenders and will establish more effective police community relations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rancbo Cucamonga, California, hereby authorizes the City ~ana~er to submit on behalf of the City a funding request in the amount of $69,466 for the Community Juvenile Crime Prevention Unit. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the San Bernardino County Sher~ff's Department as contractor to the City of Rancho Cucamonga is hereby authorized to administer the proposed program in the event fundin~ approved by the Arrowhead Justice Association.
