HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-166 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 81-166 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CON- STRUCTION OF PALO ALTO STREET. WHEREAS, Palo Alto Street is an incomplete street improvement serving the newly constructed Dona Merced Elementary School; and WHEREAS, without City participation to complete this project a substandard street will be constructed; and WHEREAS, the State Allocation Board's present opinion on street improvements prohibits the development of adjacent properties without equit- able participation by owners of such property; and WHEREAS, current State Allocation Board's opinion further limits reimbursement costs for street paving to a width of twenty feet along school frontage regardless of adopted city standards for street width; and WHEREAS, school contracts to complete the substandard construction are eminent. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, that construction of the northerly half of Palo Alto Street is an emergency project requiring innnediate attention, and therefore, the City Council authorizes execution of contracts with American Asphalt in the amount of $11,400 plus a 10 percent contingency in order to complete said construction.
