A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
PRIORITIZED LIST OF POTENTIAL PROJECTS FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ACTIVE UNDERGROUNDING
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Public Utilities Commission
Rule 20, the Edison Company makes available each year funds to cities
for the purpose of undergrounding overhead utility lines; and,
WHEREAS, since incorporation, Rancho Cucamonga has accumulated
$293,111 in this account; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering staff has undertaken to acquaint the
Council with the existence of these funds, the procedures involved in
the development of a project and reconnnend a priority for projects for
implementation under the program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, that the following seven potential projects along
major arterial streets are adopted in priority order for implementation
of an active undergrounding program:
1. Archibald Avenue - Foothill to Base Line Road.
2. Foothill Boulevard - Haven to Ramona.
3. Haven Avenue - Foothill to Arrow.
4. Base Line Road - Carnelian Street to Turner .~venue.
5. Carnelian Street - Base Line to 19th Street.
6. Nineteenth Street - Haven Avenue to West City Boundary.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City Council directs staff to
implement the following project with currently available funds:
I. Archibald Avenue - Foothill to Base Line Road.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 7th day of October, 1981.
