HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-329 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 86-329 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING ~HE DESTRUCTION OF CITY RECORDS AND DOCU)iENTR WHICH ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED AS PRO- VIDED UNDER GOVEKNMENT CODE SECTION 3~090 WHEREAS, iC has been determined that certain City records under the charge of the City Clerk's Office are no longer required for public or private purposes; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that destruction of the above-mentioned materials is necessary to conserve storage space; and reduce staff time, expense, and confusion in handling and informing the public; and WHEREAS, Section 3/4090 of the Government Code of the State of Califor- nia authorizes the head of a City department to destroy any City records and documents which are over Cvo years old under his or her charge, without making a copy thereof, after the same are no longer required, upon the approval of the City Council by resolution and the written consent of the City Attorney; and WHEREAS, it is therefore desirable to destroy said records as listed in Exhibit 'A' attached hereto and made a part hereof, in storage, without mak- ing a copy thereof, which are over two years old; and WI~ERKAS, said records have been approved for destruction by the City Attorney. NOW, THEREFORN, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONCA DOES RESOLVE aS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That approval and authorization is hereby given to destroy those records described as Exhibit 'A" attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is authorized to alloe examination by and donation to the Deparment of Special Collections of the University Ea- search Library, University of California, or other historical society designat- ed by the City Council, any of the records described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made 8 part hereof, except those deemed to be confidential. SECTION 3: That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
